Community Impact

Service is built into our culture at Georgia United and our Foundation. Our goal is to positively impact the lives of our members, team members and communities we serve. Together, we can make a difference.

School Crashers

Each year, Georgia United Foundation partners with Georgia United Credit Union to offer its School Crashers program to accredited K-12 schools in Georgia. The School Crashers grant program is designed to unite communities, donors and volunteers to complete and support local improvement projects for deserving schools.

Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement of Georgia partnership by sponsoring not only the brand-new Savannah Discovery Center but also committing to a 2023 sponsorship of the next Discovery Center in Augusta. Throughout the lifetime of our enterprise-wide Junior Achievement partnership, we helped shape the financial education of Georgia middle school children.

Service Days

Georgia United’s team members are encouraged to model our core values of service and investing in our communities. Every team member receives three volunteer days each calendar year to serve through one of Georgia United’s social responsibility programs — or for a nonprofit organization or school of their choice.
Words could never express how amazing it feels to enter our renovated spaces. The difference between the before and afters is like night and day. The faculty, staff and students were totally shocked by the upgrades provided through the School Crashers Grant from Georgia United Foundation and program sponsors. I am a 23 year educator in the Dekalb County School District. This by far is the best thing that has ever happened to me as an employee. We cannot thank you enough for choosing us for this unique opportunity. The Salem Middle School family is eternally grateful.
- Tiffanie B., Head Counselor, Salem Middle School
What a wonderful gift from a local community partner. Your commitment to improving the quality of life for children and families in the communities that we live is evident through your donation. The $1,000 from Georgia United Foundation will be used to support one foster youth for a year.
- Susie W., Children First, Inc.
The Southeastern Credit Union Foundation values the partnership of Georgia United Credit Union. Your support plays a vital role in our efforts to promote financial education initiatives, offer scholarships and grants to assist credit union employees with the training they need to achieve professional excellence, provide financial relief for credit union staff and volunteers when disaster strikes, and support credit unions in achieving their own community development objectives. Words alone can’t express how appreciative we are!
- Bobbi G., Foundation Director, League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates
The Georgia United Foundation takes great pride in being active in our local communities and believes that giving back is not only the right way — but the only way.
- Debbie Smith, President & CEO, Georgia United Credit Union
Because of the funding provided by the Georgia United Credit Union Foundation, combined with additional grant money from another donor, we will now be able to add security systems to our Gordon and Murray County Club locations. We appreciate your partnership and generosity!
- Hannah R., Director of Grants & Foundations, Boys & Girls Club
Thank you so much for supporting our mission to help the homeless and families. We truly appreciate you.
- Roz G., Executive Director, Lift Up Atlanta, Inc.
I'm so appreciative of the "mission in action" behind the staff at Georgia United Credit Union. The staff at Georgia United are a living embodiment of giving back to the community and for that, the Y is truly grateful. Your gift of dollars and time has a big impact for many in our community's mind, body, and spirit.
- Joseph A., J.M. Tull Gwinnett Family YMCA
We are so elated and forever grateful! We appreciate what you do!
- Dr. Angela S., Hope in Darkness Global Foundation
Thank you so much for this grant. It will really go a long way to help us provide meals to the children in our community.
- Jill E., Hearts Against Hunger
We rely on support from community partners like Georgia United Credit Union. With their funding, we will serve so many families during these trying times. Filling basic needs, like diapers, for families makes such a difference. Collaborations and partners are what help make our communities stronger.
