For the last eight years, Georgia United branches have collected over 386,598 cans of food during the month of February. This year will look a little different as we move away from collecting canned goods in our lobbies, to accepting monetary donations – which can be made online, as well as through Georgia United drive-up and in branch appointments.
The Georgia United Foundation takes great pride in being active in our local communities and believes that giving back is not only the right way - but the only way.
We are beyond excited for our students at New Hope Middle School to experience the new sensory room provided to us through the Georgia United Credit Union School Crashers grant. This unique classroom environment will enable a special population of our students to have their sensory needs met in various ways allowing for optimal success in the academic classrooms and fostering positive relationships with their peers. We are on the countdown to the first day of school and can not wait to let our students see our new sensory room!
Thanks to my Georgia United scholarship, I’m not only gaining academic knowledge from my classes at Mercer, I’m gaining insight into who I am and who I’ll be. My scholarship funds enabled me to complete a summer leadership development training in Maine which were the most rewarding and life-changing eight days of my life. My Georgia United scholarship is helping me learn exactly how I will change the world. I am eternally grateful for the confidence that the board showed in me last Spring.
Georgia United is very helpful to the community. I always see them giving back, helping young students who are in school and helping young families. Georgia United is a great credit union that I love.
