Scholarships for College Undergraduates

Georgia United Foundation has broadened our scholarship program to include students at various levels and stages of their academic journeys, ensuring that support is extended to a diverse group of deserving individuals. These scholarships reflect our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our community.

Dr. James Williams Scholarship for $5,000

Available to students attending a HBCU

This scholarship honors Georgia United’s first African American board member, Dr. James Williams, and offers financial assistance to students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). To apply, you must be enrolled as a full-time sophomore or junior at an accredited HBCU during the 2025 - 2026 school year. Applications will be accepted through the African-American Credit Union Coalition. Multiple winners could be chosen, with the total amount split among them.

Tom Dickson Scholarship for $5,000

Available to students attending Dalton State

This scholarship honors Georgia United's board chairman, Tom Dickson, as well as the Hispanic/Latino community and first-generation students in his hometown of Dalton, Georgia. In May 2025, one or more upperclassmen enrolled in the C. Lamar and Ann Wright School of Business at Dalton State College will be chosen for this opportunity, with the total scholarship amount split among them.
