Our Mission

The Georgia United Credit Union Foundation® is committed to improving the quality of life for children and families in the communities we serve.

About the foundation

The Georgia United Foundation was incorporated in 2016 as a nonprofit corporation in the state of Georgia. In August 2017, the Internal Revenue Service approved the Foundation as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Our Foundation partners with Georgia United Credit Union team members and volunteers to fund and deliver impactful programs across the state.

What organizations we support

We support programs that improve the quality of life for children and families, support schools and advance financial well-being. Programs funded by the Foundation include School Crashers, Junior Achievement, Can Hunger, Wish Tree, annual Scholarship programs and Service Days. Visit our Community Impact page to see how.

Award-winning community service

The Georgia United Foundation has been honored to receive recognition for excellence in our community service programming from state, national and international organizations over the years. We recently won the Communitas Awards in 2021, an international awards competition focusing on an organization's acts of service. Georgia United team members are given up to three workdays to volunteer for local schools and charitable organizations and we are grateful that many of them choose to volunteer for the foundation's School Crashers, Junior Achievement and “Be the Difference” service days.

We have been awarded first place in the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility & Community Service Award for the State of Georgia over 25 times and our School Crashers program has received the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing & Business Development Council’s Diamond Award nationally six times.

What an amazing program! Thank you to all the School Crashers contributors for making our newly created faculty recharge room a reality for the staff at Windsor Forest Elementary School. The staff looks forward to recharging here to focus on increasing student motivation and achievement.
- Dr. Trikia G., Principal, Windsor Forest Elementary
Words could never express how amazing it feels to enter our renovated spaces. The difference between the before and afters is like night and day. The faculty, staff and students were totally shocked by the upgrades provided through the School Crashers Grant from Georgia United Foundation and program sponsors. I am a 23 year educator in the Dekalb County School District. This by far is the best thing that has ever happened to me as an employee. We cannot thank you enough for choosing us for this unique opportunity. The Salem Middle School family is eternally grateful.
- Tiffanie B., Head Counselor, Salem Middle School
Georgia United aides the community they serve with services like feeding the community, a toy drive during Christmas and more.
- Carolle D., Member, Georgia United Credit Union
Georgia United is very helpful to the community. I always see them giving back, helping young students who are in school and helping young families. Georgia United is a great credit union that I love.
