I'm truly thankful for the Vernon Carne Scholarship from Georgia United as I attend North Carolina A and T University. I appreciate the investment you've made in me, and I'll be sure to come back and reinvest in my community.
- Isaiah F, Scholarship Recipient 2023
Thank you so much for awarding me this scholarship! I will be able to confidently complete this semester which will build a strong foundation for me to finish my program and graduate from Athens Technical College.

Success is not about what you accomplish in life, it is about what you inspire others to do. With the Vernon E. Carne Scholarship, I plan to attend the University of Michigan and apply the award towards my tuition. Upon graduation, my ultimate goal is to create a Youth Orchestra that would target 'at risk' youth as performers in my community. Music matters in our community.
- Caleb M., Scholarship Recipient 2020
Thanks to my Georgia United scholarship, I’m not only gaining academic knowledge from my classes at Mercer, I’m gaining insight into who I am and who I’ll be. My scholarship funds enabled me to complete a summer leadership development training in Maine which were the most rewarding and life-changing eight days of my life. My Georgia United scholarship is helping me learn exactly how I will change the world. I am eternally grateful for the confidence that the board showed in me last Spring.
